Re: How to get the Status history of the backups
Posted in 2006
Hi,
as others have pointed out before, the sysutils database
contains info about successful ON-Bar backups of dbspaces
and logical log files.
However, it generally does not have info on failed backup
attempts, because upon failure ON-Bar does not insert data
into sysutils database in the first place.
Also, if you use the "ontape" utility for your backups (log or
dbspaces), you will not find anything in the sysutils database,
because only ON-Bar utilizes that database. As well external
backups (of dbspaces) are not in sysutils database.
You can look at the output of "oncheck -pr" to see the
status of the latest dbspace backups (latest backup of
each level, I think). There's a whole lot of other info in this
output, but just have a look at it - I think it pretty much explains
itself. Here also you will see only successful backups, no
failed attempts.
Other than that it is the IDS message log file and/or the
ON-Bar activity log file. In these failed attempts will also
be recorded.
Regards,
Martin
