Temp Tables location

Hi all, In the INFORMIX Guide to SQL Tutorial manual p. 10-6 it suggest setting up a single dbspace for temporary tables in OnLine. I realize that for explicit temp tables (ie create temp table) that I can specify the dbspace. But how can I specify the dbspace for implicit temp tables (such as 4gl cursors, select into temp) or sort temp tables on a single processor system (order by's). In the Standard Engine I can do this by setting the environmental variable DBTEMP. However, my understanding is that this doesn't work with OnLine. Thanks in advance for any pointers or suggestions.
