Even though they're mad at a company, >they direct their anger against the most visible part of that company, namely, >Tech Support. > This a basic problem with email/news. You at INFORMIX tech support read my message that I have NEVER been helped and desided that this ment that I hated you and blamed your for all my toubles :-) Sorry that was my fault. I hold no dislike and don't blame you for anything. I fact INFORMIX Tech Support has allways been pleasnt and tryed to help. The bottom line is that the best you could offer was to have me call you back to find out if a new vesion was out that fixed my problems. I am very sorry but I don't want to pay for this kind of help. If I call tech support it's because I have run out of all other options and need help. My clients pay me to fix there problems. They have never liked my answers that INFORMIX can not help us and we will just have to wait for the next version. The next question they ask is why do they pay you money for tech support if the answer is to wait for the next version? My answer is that to get the updates they need INFORMIX requires maintaince. >Well, I don't know if you've ever read our maintenance policy, but such an >animal does exist. It's called update-only maintenance. Ask for it by name. >We've had it for years. > THANK YOU! I will call today and try to get this! I have for a number of years ask to JUST LET ME GET THE UPDATES. I have allways been told that maintaince is required. The only update-only maintenance I have heard of is if you have two or more of the same product you have to have full Maintaince on the first and update-only on the second. +++++++++++++++++ +++++++++++++++++++ Greg Hogg +++ +++ ++ ++ HOGG'S SOFTWARE +++ +++ +++++++++++++++++++ +++++++++++++++++ voice : 410-538-7241 ++++ ++++ ++++ ++++ fax : 410-538-6130 ++++ +++++ +++++ ++++ uucp : uunet!halexii!greg ++++ ++++++ ++++++ ++++ cis : 74176,1320 -- +++++++++++++++++ +++++++++++++++++++ Greg Hogg +++ +++
