Basically I would like to have a central server running ->the Informix On-Line engine for Novell Netware 3.11, with several ->workstations running Informix 4gl for DOS accessing data stored ->on the server. Assuming the appropriate communication links exist ->between the server and workstations (some will be at remote sites), ->what Informix software is required per workstation? Do we need ->Informix NET-PC and 4GL runtimes on each workstation and if we do is ->it possible to get discounts for multiple copies? My local distributor ->seems to have no idea! -> ->Thanks, -> I-NET and 4GL runtimes were all that were necessary for our similar system. We had an SE engine on a Sun in Denver, Colorado serving a 100+ PC net distributed from California to Florida. I don't recall (after three years) getting a volume discount. PC I-NET and 4GL runtimes were pretty cheap, so there may not be much room for discounting. Things may have changed in the interim.
