Need for Update Statistics

After loading a table (dbload or unload), creating the indexes and defining the constraints, is there a need for executing an Update Statistics or has this been done implicitly already by the creation of indexes etc... ? Pierre Henrotay

CREATE INDEX does NOT create the stats maintained by UPDATE STATISTICS.You still have to go through at least the recommended suite of update statistics statements. There are tools to ease the pain of doing so, however. Art S. Kagel
