Are there any decompilers for 4GL-RDS?

Hello, Does anyone know of a decompiler for the 4GL-RDS compiler? What happened was that the source for one of our programs got clobbered and no-one knew (not surprisingly, no-one admits to knowing about it). This accident seemed to have happened sometime back since none of our backups (up to 6mths ago) contain the source files. All we have are the *.per, *.frm, *.4go and *4gi files. It would be great if we could decompile the *.4gi back to the source *.4gl file. Thanks for your input. Samuel Lee. Sent via Deja.com http://www.deja.com/ Before you buy.

There's nothing that converts the output back to the original format. There is nominally an internal tool that gives you a semi-legible version of what the p-code is doing, but it is a long way from rewriting the source. Ditto for form files. Those tools have never been made public; most people won't even know of their existence. A surprising amount of information is available in the object files, but the format is inscrutable. -- Jonathan Leffler (jleffler@informix.com, jleffler@earthlink.net) Guardian of DBD::Informix v1.00.PC1 -- see http://www.perl.com/CPAN #include <disclaimer.h>

If we are given the unpublished work we may consider writing one. -- Compliments of QueriX -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- QueriX 4GL Compilers are Informix 4GL Compatible, and Connection to other RDBMS such as Oracle.
