Hi all,
Currently, I'm using ontape for database backup. However, the size of
database is going to exceed the capacity of backup tape. Therefore, I'm plan
to use Net backup to perform my level 0 database backup. The problem is when
is use Net Backup, then my ontape script can't be use any more. I'm not
familiar with the onbar. How the onbar work with Net Backup, and why ontape
can't? Is there anybody using Net Backup with onbar? How you all automate
the backup task??? Thanks a million.
Best Regards,
Jason

There is a book that comes with Netbackup. I think it may be called
Netbackup guide to Informix backups. It tells you step by step how to set
up your Informix backups and how often you want them to run and yes they do
run automatically, if that is the way you set them up.
Onbar is the backup command that is used with any third party backup tool...

Hi,
If you can, have a look to something else than Netbackup.
Informix does not really support Netbackup. Netbackup is really slow to make
his product compatible.
I don't know if it's a good choise, but have a look to Networker.
Maybe someone is using another backup tool ?
