Different Informix versions on one NT/Unix box

Hello all,
Can we have 2 different Informix versions on a NT/Unix box at the same time?
I think on Unix we can, but not sure.
I have Informix 7.31 TC2 installed on NT 4.0. When I go to the command
window and bring the engine online(using oninit), it brings the engine
online, but doesn't return the prompt. If I open one more window and see the
online.log, it shows the instance is online. If I close the window from
where I started the instance or if I do ctrl+c(as I am not getting back the
prompt after doing oninit) it brings the engine offline, if I see the
online.log file I don't see any message saying Informix is offline, but if I
use any of the onstat commands it will say "Shared memory not initialized
for instance_name"
Do we need to have the window open from where we start the instance or is
there any way by which we can run it in background?
Thanks and regards

Yes, it is possible. I have 4 versions (7.31.TC2, 7.31.TC5, 9.20.TC1-1 and
9.21.TC1-1)
on my NT box right now.

Use 'net start' or 'starts' commands or 'Control Panel -> Services' GUI
to start the engine on NT correctly.
