On NT there are thunking layers to allow 16 bit apps to use 32 bit odbc drivers. On Win32s there are thunking layers to allow win32 applications to use 16 bit drivers. On Windows NT a 32 bit app CAN NOT use a 16 bit driver!!! There are no thunking layers to go in that direction. I do not know this for a fact but I suspect this is also true for Windows 95. A 32 bit app on 95 will not be able to use 16 bit drivers. You must obtain 32 bit drivers for your 32 bit apps on Windows 95. I have been able to make the following work on Windows 95 with 32 bit apps using ODBC. INTERSOLV ODBC DATADIRECT DRIVER for WINDOWS NT. INFORMIX I-NET for WINDOWS NT 3.51. Both companies claim this is an unsupported configuration. We only run this in house on development machines. We are beta testing INTERSOLV drivers for WIN95 (which appear to be NT drivers in a different box). I do not know if there is a 32 bit version of the INFORMIX-CLI. Getting information out of informix is like beating your head against the wall. I get three different answers from three different people and always seem to know more than the geek on the support line trying to answer my questions. If you hear of a 32-16 bit thunking layer for Windows 95 I will be suprised. If you have access to compuserve look at the WINEXT forum and there may be more on this subject.
