Hi, you All, I am having a problem with Business Objects. In the Univers I want to join two tables between a Numeric column and a Character column Building a report with columns from both tables i get the following error: character to numeric conversion error -1213 Maybe i can solve this problem with a Informix statement, something like CONVERT (NUMERIC,tablename.columnname) Does something like this exsists in Informix and what is the syntax? B.T.W. In native SQL i am having no problems, using an temp-table. Allready thanks, Alex

That error would indicate that some alpha value is in there. S.W. swilcoxon@uswest.net
And the solution is : For Character to Numeric: table1.abc +0 = table2.123 And the other way: table1.123 || " " = table2.abc Thanks Cliff Alex Pietje Puk wrote: > Hi, you All, > > I am having a problem with Business Objects. > In the Univers I want to join two tables between a Numeric column and a > Character column > > Building a report with columns from both tables i get the following error: > character to numeric conversion error -1213 > > Maybe i can solve this problem with a Informix statement, something like > CONVERT (NUMERIC,tablename.columnname) > > Does something like this exsists in Informix and what is the syntax? > > B.T.W.
