Informix and MS Access

I have successfully attached a Microsoft Access database to an Informix Online database on Unix using the Q+E ODBC Informix drivers and Informix INET for Windows version 5. Queries and reports seem to work just fine. My problem is in trying to insert 12,000 records located in an Access table into the an Informix table. The insert query starts off just fune until it gets to about 50% or 60% percent complete. At that point, everything starts to slow down --- Windows seems to begin to swap to the hard drive, network traffic just about stops, and Access seems to only be inserting 5 to 10 records per minute. I let the job run for over 12 hours and it never will finish --- my PC finally hangs. It seems that Windows starts running out of memory and starts swapping way too much --- it shouldn't --- the PC is a 486/66 with 16 MB of RAM. Any suggestions? I have read that there is a possible memory leak in Inet for Windows --- is this true? Any workarounds.
