Actually i am having one Powerbuilder apps, from backend
i am able to retreive the query very fast.
But from PB i am not able to retrieve the data as faster as before.
the same apps worked fine before changing the extent size.
so what might be the reason.
regards

I'd suggest you look at your PB app or the network. -- Bye now, Obnoxio "... no bill is required as no value was provided." -- Christine Normile -- This message has been scanned for viruses and dangerous content by OpenProtect(http://www.openprotect.com), and is believed to be clean.
Without being given a lot more information and spending a lot more time I
doubt if anybody can help you. Have you thought of doing a performance
monitoring and tuning course? In fact, what training have you had? In a
previous thread it was clear that you hadn't remembered that output is in
pages input is in Kbytes is a rule for IDS which I feel sure must be covered
on any Informix DBA course.
It is also quite significant that having made those changes the performance
has got worse. Buy why? Is it positioning of those extents within the
dbspace? Is it something to do with readahead tuning? Are you working with
cooked or raw dbspaces? Are logical volumes involved?
Do you have a support contract with Informix? Have you asked tech support?
What was their answer?
Regards
Malcolm

With some of the history here
not knowing how to set extent sizes
not understanding onstat output
Any support provider would probably say in this instance that the
client would need to pay for a consultancy services to help identify
and fix the performance problems.
they would also recommend a number of training courses
