Linux/InformixSE 7.2 demo database problem

I've just installed version 7.2 of InformixSE on Redhat Linux 5.2.
The installation seemed to go ok, but when I try to create the
demonstration database using the dbaccessdemo7 script I get the
following error:
25591: Transport control received an invalid connection address.
The command I use on the script is:
dbaccessdemo7 -log demo_se
The error message says to check the servicename in the
$INFORMIXDIR/etc/sqlhosts file. The line I have there is:
demo_se seipcpip jimmyc sqlexec
From the documentation I'm making the following assumptions:
1) demo_se is the dataserver name ( the name of the database I'm
creating).
2) seipcpip se = the version of informix (either SE or ON), ipc
is interprocess communications, pip is unnamed pipes.
3) jimmyc my host name (where I'm creating the database) and it's
in the /etc/hosts file.
4) sqlexec the service name. The docset says to use sqlexec for
the unnamed pipes. I wouldn't think I'd put it in the /etc/services
file as it's not a 'real' tcp/ip service.
I've set my environment variables to the following:
INFORMIXSERVER=demo_se
INFORMIXDIR=/usr/informix - that's where I installedInformixSE
DBPATH= /usr/data/informix/db - where I'm trying to create my
database (cd'd there before I issued the dbaccessdemo7 )
PATH=$INFORMIXDIR/bin:$PATH:$HOME/bin
I've attached my actual sqlhosts and .bash_profile for anyone who
wants to take a look at them.
I'd appreciate any help

It was too easy. I'm a Progress DBA/system manager and knew it had to be something stupid like that. jim
