Thanks OTC. export INFORMIXC=gcc fixed it. And thanks to Art for this excellent utility. A lot of our customers have extent problems slowing down their engines (many extents 100-160) and they need to be reloaded. This will really help get the job done along with dostats. I suppose we should be grateful they give us a compiler at all though, the (one) IBM box we have at work does not even have a C compiler. But there's an irritating quirk with our HP-UX 10.20 boxes - if you do "man cc" it doesn't bloody work. You have to type some other damn thing (and I've forgotten what).
