How much BLOB space does a table occupy?
Posted in 2000
Hi Family. I have been using a query on sysmaster:systabinfo to get the number of pages used (ti_npused) to estimate the size of a .unl file when I unload a table. Unfortunately, this page count refers only to dbspace pages. I realized that inadequacy this morning, when I unloaded a table of under 400MB and found the .unl filling my file system with 1.5GB before the UNLOAD finaly barfed. Is there any table or view in sysmaster or a system catalog that will tell me how many pages in BLOB space a table has? There must be some mechanism for this because if I drop a table, the engine knows which blob pages to chase down and [mark for] delete. Thanks much. -- +----- Jacob Salomon - DBA JSalomon@bn.com - --------------------------+ |------------------- Bulletin Board Announcement ----------------------| | Congregants will please note that the bowl at the back of the church | | bearing the sign "For the Sick" is for monetary contributions only. | +----------------------------------------------------------------------+ Sent via Deja.com http://www.deja.com/ Before you buy.
