Set your LTAPEDEV to /dev/null? Sorry for one more question.
As far as I can understand even if I will have LTAPEDEV as /dev/null I
should schedule ontape -....
or something else in order to wipe out log dbspace?

No. If the engine sees that LTAPEDEV is set to /dev/null in the
ONCONFIG file at startup (or by using onmonitor when the engine is
online) it understands that you want to deep-six the logfiles and
will automatically free each logfile as it fills.

No; that's the advantage of /dev/null (or NUL on NT).
All my toy systems (meaning all my OnLine instances) run with LTAPEDEV
to /dev/null so I don't have to worry about this.
