The ontape must use a tape device that rewinds on close.
Is that the tape driver you are using????

Filesystem-Permissions for restore:
The volumes that will be restored are LVM-Volumes 2 GB with
group=informix, user=informix and mode=0660. We use user informix for
backup and restore. The path to the volumes are linked. Informix can
access the path.
