Hi, We are having Informix Client SDK V2.81.TC3 for Windows NT 32 bit and using Ifxoledbc.2 provider to connect informix database from .NET application. We are getting following error while using BeginTransaction method of OleDbConnection Object If any one have solution please let me know. thanks in advance. ERROR: An unhandled exception of type 'System.InvalidOperationException' occurred in system.data.dll Additional information: The ITransactonLocal interface is not supported by the 'Ifxoledbc.2' provider. Local transactions are unavailable with the current provider. CODE SNIPPET: Dim oCn As New OleDbConnection("Provider=Ifxoledbc.2;User ID=userid;Data Source=datasourcename;Persist Security Info=True;Password=password") Dim oCm As New OleDbCommand Dim oTransaction As OleDbTransaction oCn.Open() oCm.Connection = oCn oTransaction = oCn.BeginTransaction(IsolationLevel.ReadCommitted) oCm.Transaction = oTransaction . . . Thanks and Regards Anees Ahamed.N
Try on the machine where the SE resides:
dbaccess <yourdb> <<!
begin work;
!
if that comes back with an error then you should start a trx log
for your db.
dbaccess <<!
start database <yourdb> with log in </somedir/somefile.log>
!
WARNING check the syntax; i may be off here...
ALSO
your app may stop working if it was not build for logging...
ALSO check the manuals regarding trx log and you have to maintain
</somedir/somefile.log> yourself!!
