There is no guarantee that these servers will carry the groups you are interested in. However, I have heard that news.dfn.cis.de might be suitable. You have to register with them from a valid email address, but they don't charge (they didn't last year anyway). -- Andrew Pearson: "exactly what the web needs less of".
