installing INET PC with multi-user license
Posted in 1995
Have anyone tried installing I-Net PC 4.10 on a file server?? What about on a unix machine acting as a file server?? How do one go about doing that? I am told that to install on a Netware file server, you will need a file "$INFORMIXDIR\\etc\\netuaf" with the server names and client names in it. I think that is basically correct, do correct me if I am wrong. I tried the same thing on a Unix file server, no luck there, that's why I am asking for help. BTW, shouldn't this be in the FAQ?? I remembered seeing people asking about the error message "... install program cannot find the server name ...", which is commonly faced when installing a mulit-user license of an Informix PC-based product. And if I am not wrong, the accompanying installation notes does not mention this at all. =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Calvin Ng email: <calvinng@brel.com.sg> ------------------------------------------------------------------------- [DISCLAIMER] Read at your own risks.
