FW: informix application can not obtain pty ??????

I believe that would be an OS problem. Have the UNIX admin check the kernel setting for max ptys. It depends on your OS what the parameter is called, but (s)he should know what it is. If the ONCONFIG parameter CONSOLE is set to /dev/pty try setting it to a physical file instead. Art S.
