I used to get thekse kind of errors on my db too. When update stats is run
these errors disappered. May be you could run it on timely basis and
observe.

You need to find out what the ISAM error code is to fix the problem.
This error code is in the sqlca structure, in sqlerrd[1]. I'm not sure
how you would reference it using ODBC, I would think you could do a
dbinfo(sqlca.sqlerrd1), but I'm not sure.
It looks like someone may have an exclusive lock on the table.
