In a short while (weeks perhaps) Informix will have Dynamic 4GL available for Linux. 4J who develop this product actually do all their development on Linux machines and have done so for quite some time, so this will be a real tier 1 release :-) Dynamic 4GL should be capable of compiling most any 4GL code straight without any changes. There have been some reports that it's stricter than Informix standard 4GL that can lead to some problems. Applications can be executed in standard character mode on any terminal just like the old 4GL or you can have a GUI (of sorts perhaps) on an MS Windows machine or X Windows. There are also at least two other companies that make 4GL clones that either are awailable now or will be soon. All this where announce on the IWUC conference last week, but didn't seem to make it out to the "masses". With all this may be you don't need a primer on ESQL/C :-) On Fri, 24 Jul 1998 02:45:40 -0500, Brian Fahrlander <kilroy@kamakiriad.com> wrote: >Well, Linux now supports Informix.
