We also had this problem and figured out that when we did a HPL it changed
the constraints and indexes, loaded the data and then changed the
constraints and indexes back to what they were defined originally.

See Obnoxio's message for one possibility. Others:
CREATE ... TRIGGER ON ...
UPDATE STATISTICS MEDIUM/HIGH if it creates a distribution that did
not
exist before.
CREATE INDEX ...
DROP INDEX ...
ALTER FRAGMENT ...
ALTER INDEX ... TO CLUSTER/NOT CLUSTER
and a few other commands can all cause a prepared cursor to become
no
longer valid and return a -710 on execution. It is best to have any
long running program that depends on cursors reprepare and reexecute
if
it receives -710.
