(just tossing in my $.02) I've spent the last 6 years or so in Progress, and am just getting started in Informix. My opinion: Progress is MUCH less administrative intensive. It's going to be easier to administer. OTOH, it starts to have difficulties with multi-gigabyte databases where Informix is just hitting it's stride, and in general will perform better by making better utilization of machine resources. Informix is also a lot more expensive to purchase than Progress. Jeff Kalchik ---------------------------------------- Views expressed are my own, not necessarily 3COM's.
