Error -482

Hi all, A strange problem that I am encountering goes as - I have installed IDS 7.31 on a DEC workstation. The code goes somewhat like == main() { $connect to "database"; /* Some code goes in here */ $begin work; $declare a cursor for select * into $M from table where status = -1 for update ; $open a; $fetch a ; /* some more code */ } This is where a error occours - Error No -482 Operation on a non scroll cursor. This piece of code works fine on a DEC workstation(1),with IDS 7.23 where it has been compiled but does not work on another m/c(2)where it has been ftp'd . Ive tried loading IDS 7.31 on the workstation(1) and it works fine .Is this some problem of incompatible versions of IDS and sql ? or something else ? I cannot declare a scroll cursor bcos i want an update on it. Any suggestions will be very helpful. Regards.
