What to use to compile Informix 4gl source code to executable binary. I would like to use just binary and Informix IDS 7.x to run application. -- Milan Hromada tel: +421 (0)862 5151 335 -------------------------

You'll still need a 4GL (Runtime, at least) on the target machine to run the binary... the binary has a built-in check for the 4GL environment.

There are other alternatives, which are more cost effective. -- Compliments of QueriX -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- QueriX 4GL Compilers are Informix 4GL Compatible, and Connection to other RDBMS such as Oracle. Am I being too obvious if I suggest I4GL (c-code) on the development machine, and I4GL RunTime on the production machine. You'll also need a C compiler on the development machine. And the development and production machines need to have the same architecture, of course. And if you have a single machine with both development and production roles, then you have no compatability problem. Since this all seems rather obvious, I'm wondering if I'm missing something from your question. -- Jonathan Leffler (jleffler@informix.com, jleffler@earthlink.net) Guardian of DBD::Informix v0.95 -- see http://www.perl.com/CPAN #include <disclaimer.h>
