Re: IDS 10.0 32-bit and PAM

Hi, just to make sure that this is not the problem: IDS ...HCx versions are 32-bit applications to be run on a 64-bit OS. But as such they need 32-bit libraries. A PAM is implemented as a shared library that will be loaded at runtime by IDS. Therefore HCx-IDS will need a 32-bit version of the PAM, even though the OS is 64-bit. A 64-bit library implementation of the PAM will not work for HCx-IDS. Matrin, This is a good point, to my knowledge IBM support and I looked at this and concluded that IDS & PAM are all 32-bit. Now I could be totally mis-remembering what we have checked over the last 11 months. Off the top of my head I'm not sure how to determin if a library was compiled in 32-bit or 64-bit, if I do a file /usr/lib/libpam.1 I get the follwoing which doesn't say much /usr/lib/libpam.1: s800 shared library -not stripped John
