RE: NewEra3: SE not working
Posted in 1997
Tom, The informix product did not install correctly, because the user Informix must be created automatically by the installation wizard. Uninstall Informix NewEra and as Administrator remove the user Informix and the group Informix, then, reinstall the product as Administrator. In case you would like to access Informix from a different user then you sould execute the SetUser utility. I Have not had that problem and have been unable to duplicate it.This may seem like a lame answer, however, the source of most errors can be found in the simplest mistakes. The connection to the database (local or remote) still reads informix.ini. Revisit setnet's configuration and ensure that everything is in order. Aside from that, call up Informix Techinal Support and have them talk you through a setup and connection.
