Folks, The client for whom I work wants to turn off the rsh/rcp/ftp feeds in their future production release. The client's security team is recommending to migrate over to using ssh/scp/sftp instead of rsh/rcp/ftp. 1. Does anyone know if Informix HDR is supported over a secure shell (ssh)? 2. If anyone has got a working HDR env with ssh, could you pls. post the env. configuration that needs be in place in order to get HDR working. Environment Details: Solaris 10, IDS 7.31.ud9 Thanks. -- Rajiv Jhaveri (rajiv_jhaveri_06@hotmail.com) _________________________________________________________________ Search on the go: Try Windows Live(tm) Search for Mobile beta http://www1.imagine-msn.com/minisites/mobile/Default.aspx?locale=en-us

What we found out was that the replication happens at a much lower level than where these utilities function. Just make sure that the two servers are trusted, that the "informix" id is not locked on either end, and that the password for the "informix" id is non-expiring. In our environment, we don't log on directly to the "informix" id, but use a package similar to 'sudo'. NOTE: We are running HDR on IDS 9.40.FC6, HP-UX 11i. I would think that all of the above would apply to your version & platform, too. However, as always, test, test, test,...
