Hi
I just got my very first Informix installation CD for a workgroup server
7.20.UC4-1 for Solaris 2.5.1.
To start from scratch, I reinstalled Solaris on a Sun workstation, added
the required shared memory lines to /etc/system and rebooted. Then I ran
the Informix installation which seemed to go along fine. But now I have
a big problem: When running oninit -i, the following message is written
to online.log:
16:34:18 listener-thread: err = -931: Cannot locate sqlturbo
service/tcp service in /etc/services.
The result is that shared memory is not initialized and nothing works. I
have doublechecked /etc/system, /etc/services, onconfig.ows and
sqlhosts, and the correct lines are included in all of those files (I've
also sent them to my vendor's hotline for verification, and they said
everything is ok).
I've tried several hours to get it running, including a complete
reinstallation, and I'm beginning to suspect that it might be a stupid
error like missing rights to some file. Has anybody an idea?
Thanks, Beat
