RE: integrity checks
Posted in 2003
Hi,
I have been at this place for about 5 months and finally got some time =
after a backlog of work, to do some real dba work.
One thing I have noticed here is that there are no integrity checks on =
the database.
I know when I was the sybase dba at another council we did the following =
things...
Dbcc nightly jobs - to check the integrity of the databases.
Update statistics - to update statisticsBackup and load from production servers to another server to check the =
integrity of the dump.
Email the error messages from the server error log as well as email the =
daily changes in the error log to DBA.
Backup the system tables
Backup the master database.
Here we have update statistics and backup only.
Can someone please help me here with the integrity checks, what sort of =
commands should I be looking at to use?
Help would be gratefully received from an inexperienced informix dba.
By the way thanks to those of you who replied to my last email about =
renaming a database. I successfully freed up raw partitions to use for =
the live server from a development server and assigned filesystem =
chunks.
