What is the client being used? IDS Version? So many questions, so few answers !! Keith
Because there is no 'run' command. Use:
SYSTEM 'lp myfilename';
Which only works in an SPL Stored Procedure, so you have to write your own
'run' command if you want to print from an SQL script directly:
create procedure run( cmd lvarchar );
SYSTEM cmd;
end procedure;

Thank you Keith, The IDS Version is 11.0. The Report is designed in 4gl and it is produced in the User directory on Linux. currently we boot from dos prompt by lwp command of Novell Netware and we use the "Run prn <report file name>" in the 4gl program and it works but if the user connects to Linux Server through Windows Xp by Putty or Telnet the prn from 4gl program doesn't work. how can we print 4gl report of Linux through Windows Client.
