Hi, all.
There is a problem. INFORMIX-OnLine 4.10. UC1. It is necessary to increase
number of the users, in a file tbconfig.akt there is a parameter USER 80; at
'hange on the greater number the problems with shared memory begin at start.
Solaris 2.4
RAM 64 Mb
# Shared Memory Parameters
USERS 80 # Maximum number of concurrent users
(processes)
LOCKS 3000 # Maximum number of locks
BUFFERS 1600 # Maximum number of shared buffers TBLSPACES 800 # Maximum number of open tblspaces
CHUNKS 8 # Maximum number of chunks
DBSPACES 8 # Maximum number of dbspaces
PHYSBUFF 32 # Physical log buffer size (Kbytes)
LOGBUFF 32 # Logical log buffer size (Kbytes) LOGSMAX 10 # Maximum number of logical log files
CLEANERS 2 # Number of buffer cleaner processes
SHMBASE 0x8388000 # Shared memory base address
CKPTINTVL 300 # Check point interval (in sec)
# System Page Size
BUFFSIZE 2048 # Page size (do not change!)

Using 4.10 is indeed a problem. It is 12 years archaic and unsupported.
It is not Y2K-compliant.

How much shared memory is configured in your kernel? How many
semaphores?
Check /etc/system.
Have you got the enable_sm_wa=1 flag in there? You may need it since
you're using Solaris 2.4 (which is also largely unsupported by Sun these
days, because it is not Y2K-compliant -- don't use SCCS on it).
