How it was configured was we had a mirror copy of informix installed (including all the products) on the second machine with all the onconfigs, etc. identical to the first machine (same version licence etc.). The informix Dbspaces were on the disks to be shared (the disks that would be mounted on the second machine in case of first machine failure). I think these machines were configured as "mutual takeover". When the second machine takes over users who are conected on the first machine were bumped out and had to re-connect but besides that there was no other problem. What you need to remember is that what ever changes you make to the config on the fist machine you need to duplicate on the second always. Hope this helps Rgds MG Mior@mesiniaga.com.my wrote: > Hi, > > Currently I'm handling IDS 7.3 on R/S 6000 F50 machine. My company want to upgrade the system for > the purpose of availability. Put everything on the shared mirrored disk. Mirror across controllers (mirror disk is on a differnet controller to the one it is mirroring). If you are using arrays of disks mirror onto a seperate array! Everything except possibly small boot disks goes onto the shared disk. Anyone happens to run IDS 9.20 or 9.21 on HACMP on AIX-4.3.3 on an E-Server P-series (aka RISC/6000) ? Thanks, Thanh Sent via Deja.com http://www.deja.com/ Before you buy.
