Hello, I have problems with my instance which went down and I can't bring it on-line. Since nothing was done on the server, I have no idea of what's happening. Here are some informations from the log : 12:37:46 Booting Language <c> from module <> 12:37:46 Loading Module <CNULL> 12:37:46 Booting Language <builtin> from module <> 12:37:46 Loading Module <BUILTINNULL> 12:37:51 Informix Dynamic Server 2000 Version 9.21.TC5 12:37:51 Informix Dynamic Server 2000 Initialized -- Shared Memory Initialized. 12:37:52 Physical Recovery Started at Page(5:9975). 12:37:52 Physical Recovery Complete: 0 Pages Examined 0 Pages Restored. 12:37:52 Logical Recovery Started. 12:37:52 10 recovery worker threads will be started. 12:37:53 listener-thread: err = -930: oserr = 0: errstr = \\\\\\\\cbl-exp: Cannot connect to database server (\\\\\\\\cbl-exp). Please, I need help to restart. Henri MOUKOURI
Hi,
More informations below :
1/ It seems my problem is somewhat related to sqlhosts.
2/ Entries in the Win 2000 server appear to be correct ...
3/ This is the output of oninit in verbose mode :

Hi, Thanks a lot for your hints. The case is closed now. In fact, this is the way SQLHOSTS looked in the registry : ol_cbl921 |__________ HOSTS ____________________________ REG_SZ ________________ \\\\\\\\cbl-exp That's what was generating the 930 error and allowing the engine to restart. The correct data should be cbl-exp (ie, without the leading \\\\\\\\). Maybe a bad entry made by some operator using Setnet32 ? Henri MOUKOURI
