I was doing dbimport, finally it got online message,
14:22:06 Maximum server connections 1
14:33:55 Fuzzy Checkpoint Completed: duration was 408 seconds, 3
buffers not flushed.
14:33:55 Checkpoint loguniq 12, logpos 0x1749070, timestamp: 0xfecbd9b
14:33:55 Maximum server connections 1
14:34:48 KAIO: out of OS resources, errno = 11, pid = 217530
what caused the KAIO error ?
IDS 10 UC5, AIX 5.3,
8 G memory, 8 CPU
Thanks,

Check the machine notes for recommended kernel settings
for IDS on AIX. Basically you have requested more I/O updates
than the current kernel settings can handle.

Hi Qman,
What value do you have
IFMX_AIXKAIO_NUM_REQ
set to in your evrionment when you initialized the instance?
Default is 1024, whihc for a good dbimport will generate KAIO out of resources
relatively quickly.
If the above variable isn't set, try the following.
1 - Set IFMX_AIXKAIO_NUM_REQ = 4096 in the environment.
2- bounce your database instance.
No Kernel setting changes are necessary in this particular case.
