Hello all,
Can I dynamically change BUFFERS and RA_THRESHOLD without having to bounce
the Informix server?
I am doing this because the onstat -p output shows that bufwaits is
increasing and ovbuffs has 143. Also, RA-pagesused is much less that total
pages read-ahead. Any ideas?
Our platform is IDS 7.23 UC11X3 on AIX 4.3.
Thanks,
Uday

Afraid that you'll need to reset the ONCONFIG variables, then bounce
Informix. One of the only parameters that doesn't require a bounce is
TAPEDEV.

No you must bounce for all parameters except TAPE* and LTAPE* (if done
using onmonitor).
I would suggest increasing BUFFERS and LRUS and decreasing the RA
parameters to start.
