I've already reported it. Apparently the link is wrong in several ways. First it points to a local directory. Even if you copy/paste it to a browser the IBM website reports and error. I'm not sure if the URL is wrong or simply not there yet... If I have any more info/feedback I'll post it here.... One point I dont't remember id it's covered in the paper is that you have the ability to estimate compression for a specific table. I won't lie... I haven't test it, so I won't assure you it makes the correct estimation, but It should give you a good idea... It probably bases the calculation on the dictionary (which is very quick to create). Obviously it has a lot to do with statistics... It samples the table and estimates the repetition of some values. If the sample for some strange motive doesn't represent the table reality, the estimate compression will not be accurate... But that's the usual story with statistics...
