dbspace not reporting after upgrade

Recently I upgraded our production HP 9000 and Disaster Recovery HP 9000 to HPUX 11i v2 and Informix 10. Both upgrades seem to go ok but on my D/R server I don't get the normal report of my database space from the dbspace command. Here is the output: # dbspace Name KB Size KB Free KB Used Percent ------------ ------- ------- ------- ------- ------------ ------- ------- ------- ------- Total 0 0 0 Logical Logs 600000 583750 16250 2.7% It used to have the break down for dbs0, root, and temp. You can still access the databases and I can still see them through onmonitor. Below is the status of the dbspaces in onmonitor. DBSPACES/BLOBSPACES Number of When Id Name Chunks Created Status 1 root 1 02/25/2003 M 2 dbs0 3 02/25/2003 M 3 temp0 1 02/25/2003 N T 4 temp1 1 02/25/2003 N T Andy P.
'dbspace' is not an Informix utility. Looks like a script someone wrote to
post-process the onstat -d output. However, in 9.40 and again in 10.00 the
format of the report changed slightly due to the multiple buffer pools and
large pages sizes. You'll have to rewrite your script (or better replace it
with a program that queries sysmaster:sysdbspaces and sysmaster:syschunks and
formats a report. That will be less prone to server changes.

What is your "dbspace" command? Is it the onstat command passed through
some sort of text manipulator? Maybe is id calls through dbaccess to the
sysmaster database.
Remember, between versions the format of onstat output, and the tables
in sysmaster can and do change.
I suggest you do 'which dbspace' and find out what the command under
this homegrown is using. It probable's needs to be adjusted due to the
upgrades.

Here goes this utility scripts, it should help you with the dbspace report.
Cut and paste in to a file, perhaps, call it "dbspaces", chmod 755 dbspaces,
set your Informix env, then run it ...
------------------------------------------
#!/bin/ksh
# script name: dbspaces
# Author: Kern Do
# Comment: this should work for most Unix flavor and most IDS7 and up
# regardless pagesize...
dbaccess sysmaster << EOF 2>&1 | egrep -v
'^$|Database|Isolation|Table|retrieve'
set isolation to dirty read;select name[1,18] dbspace, round (sum(chksize) *
(
select sh_pagesize from sysshmvals
) /1024, 0) Size_KB,round ((sum(chksize) - sum(nfree)) *
(
select sh_pagesize from sysshmvals
) /1024, 0) Used_KB,round ( (sum(chksize) - sum(nfree)) /
(sum(chksize)) *100, 2) Percent_Used
from sysdbspaces d, syschunks c
where d.dbsnum = c.dbsnum
group by 1
order by 4 desc
into temp availspace with no log;
select * from availspace
where availspace.Percent_Used >= 0
order by 4 desc;
drop table availspace;EOF
