I'm using Aqua Data Studio to query an informix idx 10 database and I'm trying to figure out how to perform a like type condition on a text column. Anyone have any ideas on this, nothing seems to come up in the documentation other than using the SDK to work against the db. Thanks in advance. T

You need the text datablade. Art S. Kagel

http://www-306.ibm.com/software/data/informix/blades/excaliburtext/ heard a new one is coming since V10 and may be 11 has problems with it... text blade allows you to index large objects and perform indexed searches on it. you could look at this, it's nice!! you may also have a look at writing a c function which could handle the matches on text datatypes. You have to register this in the server, (see manual) or maybe someone else has written a function you could use?? dono. there used to be datablade corner search for it on the ibm site. Superboer.
