Strange behaviour of engines with DBMONEY or DBFORMAT set.

} } Dear informixers: } Does anybody observed this problem? } (Specially non-english language people) } } If you set the environment variables DBMONEY or DBFORMAT to } replace the decimal point by comma and viceversa, the behaviour of the } engines (SE or OnLine) is altered and cannot correctly find your query on } money/decimal/floating point numbers. } } For example, if you CONSTRUCT a query on a money field named PRICE, } and you request } } Price [>10 ] } or Price [>10.0 ] } or Price [>10,0 ] } } the result of the CONSTRUCT will be: price>"10,0" (with quotes), but the } engine will SELECT smaller, greater or = values with an unknown criteria. Interesting. What immediately springs to mind - but I've never experienced so I say in public - remember that you are in a client/server environment (front end tool/back end engine). So if you set your user environment DBMONEY and DBFORMAT that's how they'll display - but the engine may still be running the US version of those vars. Have you tried setting them before the tbinit in your startup? j. _____________________________________________________________________________ Jack Parker | Hewlett Packard, BSMC Boise, Idaho, USA| He who talks most, talks least. jparker@hpbs3645.boi.hp.com | _____________________________________________________________________________ Any opinions expressed herein are my own and not those of my employers. _____________________________________________________________________________
