Subject: Re: OUTER join problem
OK
here is select statement
SELECT applicant.applicantid, applicant.lastname, applicant.firstname,
[many lines of select clipped]
assignment.applicantid = payroll.applicantid AND[several more lines clipped]
what I found is that if I delete from payroll it is working fine, but
that
is confusing becouse I have no rows in
payroll for this order_id
I don't suppose those rows you deleted from payroll had null in key
fields (i.e. payroll.applicantid ) did they? Or on a second level, did
they join to records whose fields joined to another table, any of which
had null data. When you get rows that you don't intend this is often
the problem.
Just something you might want to check out.
