Connecting VB wht Informix.

I'm not sure what ODBC driver you are trying to use but I recently tried upgrading from the Intersolv 3.11 to the Informix 3.32. After exhaustive testing, decided to stay with Intersolv. It has a few problems, but nothing compared to the Informix one. The Apps I support are written in VB6 and utilize ADO. I originally tried the Informix 3.31 driver but couldn't execute stored procedures that did have any parameters passed in. I found a "work around" that did work with 3.32 but then errors showed up in other areas. Hopefully Informix will get the driver straightened out and actually usable. Until then, it's Intersolv for me. We use VB6 with Informix. Here's an example of making a connection with ADO, using the MS OLEDB Provider for ODBC and the Informix ODBC driver from the Client-SDK. Setup "yourdsnname" in Control Panel using the Informix 32-bit ODBC driver: Public gadoConnMain As ADODB.Connection Set gadoConnMain = New ADODB.Connection With gadoConnMain .ConnectionString = "Provider=MSDASQL;DSN=yourdsnname;" & _ "User ID=yourlogin;Password=yourpwd;" .ConnectionTimeout = 5 .CursorLocation = adUseClient .Open .Errors.Clear End With "Neil Miranda" <nmiranda@afl.co.in> wrote in message news:8u5eom$em5$1@news.xmission.com... > > This is a multi-part message in MIME format. > > ------=_NextPart_000_002A_01C047DC.DDF6F360 > Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable > Content-Type: text/plain; > charset="Windows-1252" > > Query: > > "We are trying to connect Informix with VB 6.0 as front end.
