When online 7.11 crashes and there is a message in my online log such as:
18:40:26 Assert Failed: Internal Error - Segmentation Violation

Question is: how do you read the "shmem.eebcee0f.0" file? Or is it a
waste of time? I have a 40 GB database and periodically the engine just
crashes. Any clues?
Thanks
onstat -i <shmem file>
This will allow you interactively examine what was happening when the
engine 'had a bad hair day'. No it's not always a waste of time, but
can take some digging to find who was doing what, when, using which
resources etc.
Have fun
