short form of my question: can I create an index, off of a view that is created in another database than the one that has the underlying table for the view? longer explanation of my question: I have created a view in one database Y that does a select on a table in another database X. The view's underlying table in database X, does not have an index and can not have an index off the columns that I am interested in. Can I create an index for the view in database Y and have my queries on the view use the index for searches ? Sent via Deja.com http://www.deja.com/
You cannot index a view. Please post schema of table(s) and view(s) so I can better understand your problem.
