Have you checked the permission of the Informix products?, you can download an utility at http://iiug.org , which checks and make the corrections, I don't remember who wrote it, but it is useful. We just installed Informix-OnLine on a new machine, a DEC Alpha 1000. The version installed was 7.20.UC3, under a 4.0.A Digital Unix O/S. We found we can't compile using fglpc, (INFORMIX-4GL Version 6.04.UC1 Pcode Version 602), we get the following error: DATABASE tracsy GLOBALS "globalvar.4gl" | | Cannot read message file: operating system error 2. | | The database "tracsy" cannot be found or opened. If the database | exists, check the database permissions on the database. In | addition, check the system permissions on the database directory | and its ascendant directories. | See error number -4305. Dbaccess CAN access the database (lists it as databasename@machinename), and the tables we built. Isql can't access any databases. We called support, and they told us, yep, it's a bug, you have to go back to version 7.13.UC2 of the engine.
