Re: backup and tape size

: We have a Compaq 5000 under Sun Solaris and INFORMIX 7.20 : The would like to know is there is a limit in the size tape, 'cause in our : older version INFORMIX 4.0 the maximum size was 2 GBytes. The limit on the tape size has been (for as long as I've worked with Informix, starting with 4.0) 2 TB, or 2000 TB. There used to be problems with certain OS's that count the number of bytes you write to a device that would max out at 2 GB (maybe this is the problem you are referring to). This was not an Informix-imposed limitation.
