Do anyone has the experience using ' ontape -a' to replace onbar -b -l to
backup the logical log?
I make below changes,it does not Work.
Alarmprogram.bat
Set BACKUP_CMD=ontape -a
$ONCONFIG
LTAPEDEV=c:\\\\tmp\\\\idslog.dat
Copy nul idslog.dat
Hi,
I would add a shell script here which contains a call to "ontape -a -d" from
out of the alarm script.
We only have experience in Linux based systems but this should work in
windows, too.
Our backup shell scripts prepare the directory, populate
IFX_ONTAPE_FILE_PREFIX, then call ontape -a -d,
checking the output afterwards and send a mail in case of any error.
Remember to add the -d option to indicate a backup in a directory.

Actually Marcus, backup to a directory behavior is automatically detected.
The -d option just indicates an archive that is non-interactive and so
disables all prompts so the archive will never pause for user input.
