RE: etc/brand no such file in SQL Linux install

Previous settings are lost when you login.
You need to login as "root" BEFORE you:
set INFORMIXDIR to /opt/informix
set PATH to include $INFORMIXDIR/bin set stty erase ^h (ie. a ^h backspaces erasing)

Subject: etc/brand no such file in SQL Linux install
My system is: Intel Pentium i586, 32MB ram
The software is: SQL LINUX 7.20.UD1
(and 4GL LINUX and 4GL RDS LINUX and 4GL ID LINUX)
I mount the cdrom
/etc/group has the line: informix::150:
/etc/passwd has the line:
informix:x:150:150:Informix:/home/informix:/bin/bash
I set INFORMIXDIR to /opt/informix
I set PATH to include $INFORMIXDIR/bin
I set stty erase ^h (ie. a ^h backspaces erasing)
I log in as root
from /opt/informix I run: tar -xvf /mnt/cdrom/sql.tar
from /opt/informix I run: ./installsql
After succesful serial number and key I get:
Installing directory .
Installing directory bin
etc/install: etc/brand: no such file or directory
Installation failed.
What to do ?
